The “triangle” is formed by lines drawn between Lake City, Ouray and Silverton. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the managing agency, coined the term Alpine Triangle for this special management area. Many consider the Alpine Triangle to be BLM’s “Crown Jewel in the high country”
